Caroline Lorinet, Founder
At the age of 16, I was discovered by a fashion photographer in my home country of France. Before long, I embarked on an amazing career as a model that saw me travelling internationally to Paris, London and Milan fashion weeks and into the editorial pages of Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire.
From my early twenties however, my skin began to change. I started to experience frequent allergies to skin products, and was left battling rashes and irritation on an almost daily basis. As I entered my thirties the situation became even worse. I was eventually diagnosed with dermatitis and mild rosacea by my dermatologist, and my battle with product sensitivity became even more evident.
This culminated in my mid-thirties, when I suffered an extreme allergic reaction to a skin cream, after which my face was left severely burned, red and flaking. In intense pain, I was unable to sleep for days and prescribed steroids in an attempt to heal my damaged skin. It was months before I was able to work again, and the experience left me fearful of trying anything new.
Understanding that my sensitive skin put me at risk of further reactions, I decided to take matters into my own hands and set about researching skincare ingredients and the effect that they can have on delicate complexions.
Soon, my goal was to develop a natural and organic-based skincare range of my own that would care for sensitive skin and effectively improve the signs of ageing. My research led me to a powerful antioxidant, Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil. Rich in Vitamins and Essential Fatty Acids, Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil is proven to deliver better anti-ageing results than any other oil and is gentle enough to use safely on sensitive skin. It became the key ingredient in the Caroline Lorinet range of skincare, and I use only Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil sourced from the Arctic region, widely believed to be the best in the world.
Developed by renowned Australian cosmetic scientist Ray Townsend, the range fuses complex formulations with light, rapidly absorbed textures and blends some of nature’s finest ingredients with the latest scientific technology.
Made in my new home country, New Zealand, the range also draws much inspiration from the luxurious Parisian beauty spas I grew up with, and is a unique mix of efficacy, gentleness and everyday luxury.
